Refund Policy

Clear, milestone-based refund terms for AnimArts custom commissions and digital deliverables.

AnimArts Studio (“we”, “us”) provides custom-commissioned digital services. Because each commission requires significant artist labor that cannot be resold, refunds are governed by the milestone-based schedule below. By placing an order you accept this policy.

1. Refund Window by Milestone

Every commission is broken into milestones. Refund eligibility depends on which milestone has been reached when you request a refund:

  • Before work begins (within 24 hours of payment): 100% refund of the deposit. We have not allocated artist time yet, so the full amount is returned.
  • After concept / sketch approval: Up to 50% refund of the deposit. The remainder covers concept work already delivered to you (sketches, character analysis, rigging plan).
  • After production milestone (rigging in progress / WIP shared): No cash refund. We will instead offer either (a) project credit toward a future commission of equal value, or (b) delivery of the work-in-progress files in their current state.
  • After final delivery: No refunds. The deliverable has been transferred to you and cannot be revoked.

2. How to Request a Refund

Email support@animarts.studio from the same email address used for the original payment, including:

  • Your order or inquiry reference (format AA-YYYY-NNNN)
  • The reason for the refund request
  • Any supporting context (e.g. delivery delays, scope mismatch)

We respond to refund requests within 3 business days. Approved refunds are processed back to the original payment method within 5–10 business days (your bank may take additional time to display the credit).

3. Non-Refundable Items

The following are non-refundable once delivered, regardless of milestone:

  • Rush-delivery surcharges (we’ve already reorganised our schedule)
  • Third-party costs explicitly itemised on your quote (e.g. licensed assets, plugins)
  • Free downloads, sample files, and promotional resources
  • Custom add-ons completed and delivered before the refund request

4. Chargebacks & Disputes

Please contact us before initiating a chargeback with your bank or card issuer — in the vast majority of cases we can resolve the issue directly and faster than a chargeback dispute would. Filing a chargeback without first contacting support may result in suspension of any in-progress work and forfeiture of partial deliverables.

5. Cancellation by Us

We reserve the right to cancel a commission and issue a full refund (regardless of milestone) if:

  • The character art provided contains intellectual property we cannot legally rig (e.g. someone else’s character used without permission).
  • The scope changes substantially after work begins and we cannot reach agreement on revised pricing.
  • The client becomes unresponsive for more than 30 days during an active milestone.

6. Quality Guarantee & Revisions

Each tier includes a defined number of revisions during the production phase. If the final deliverable does not meet the spec on your approved quote, we will revise it free of charge until it does — this is not a refund matter, it’s our standard quality commitment. Revisions are scoped to the original brief; new scope is billed separately.
